It is a good eye to see something so small as a snail on the wheat grains and the brings us the the world of the small bugs. The snail also in a good position making a lean to the opposite direction of the grains helps make it noticeable but in a subtle way. The color in the photo is also great. I can see some strong yellows and blues.
Originality
Most nature images are from a distance and this one is one of the up close. I would not say up close is new; however, most are of butterflies or flowers. A snail is a harder subject matter. We do not see much beauty in a snail as we do a butterfly.
Technique
The Photograph is very well balanced. Your photo is balanced in, tone, value, and texture. I can see some nice worm and cool tones in your photo. You also have the brightest whites and the darkest blacks. And the texture is not to grainy and yet not to soft. It is also impressive to get that close up of the grain and that the subject matter is the most clear part of the photo.
Impact
You may need to think about negative space and positive space in the use of aesthetics. What I am seeing is allot of negative space and that most of the time does not work in your favor. There are cases it can but this work I am not seeing it. It may have been better to do this photo in portrait rather than landscape.
