Stone by Willigenburg Stone by Willigenburg
Macro shot of a little stone. The background is actually a lot of the stones.

I am critiquing on behalf of the commenters system.

Vision: This is a great photo! The emphasize on a small stone is good and the smaller stone resting on the big stone is good.
Originality: This is VERY original, i have never seen a piece like this before!
Technique: I just had to give you 5/5! The focus is AMAZING! And the natural (?) bokeh is great! I love how it unfocused then focused then unfocused again! :D
Impact: Although if you are looking at thumbs you may not pick this photo; it is grey and looks bland but when you click on it, it is amazing!
Improvement comments: Maybe take the focused stones closer to you.
Overall good photo!

This is an interesting photo. I know it may sound like every other comment people give, but I do like the colors and the sense of bokeh in the background, they appeal to the focused rock very well. I do have a few suggestions, the first thing would be just a little closer crop. The only reason is on the right side, it seems to trail off an empty space, if you came in just a weee little bit, I think it'd keep us in this area, like... a fence. The other thing is the out of focused area in the foreground. Though it's not bad across the hole bottom, the corner keeps pulling me towards the out of focus to see what it really is. Other than that, I really like the point of view you used, it's different from what you normally see. Also, few little pebbles seem to line across it very well. It's like a line that seems angled towards the back, if that makes sense. It's quite appealing. I like the way the larger rock in back is visible as well.

I really love the dark background, light background and foreground separation, love the colours, and the rock in focus is a really nice looking one :) I just really like the way it's set up with the blurry rock behind the focus rock, everything looks just right.
